Diorite Solid Surface were one of 14 finalists featured at the Donegal Enterprise Awards. All finalists have made an impact locally and they are all a credit to business enterprise in Donegal.
We cannot thank #LEODoengal enough for all their help #makingithappen, as this is our first award since the business opened in 1996.
We were delighted to have been shortlisted for Best Established Business and left as the sole winner of the Engineering Cluster Award.
I'll be covering how we got shortlisted from over 100 applicants to who we met at the #DEA
While Ian could not make it to the #DEA, Danielle has graciously stepped in for him to represent all at Diorite #wemakethings. Danielle has been a part of our team since 2018, she has helped develop our business and encouraged Ian to apply for the Local Enterprise Awards. It was due to Danielle's encouragement and support that we have come out of #LEODoengal with an award.
This year's awards were held at the stunning @rockhillhouse_estate in Letterkenny where we were greeted by Brenda Hegarty-Head of Enterprise. We gathered with other local businesses for photos and made our way downstairs to the function room for lunch and introductions. We met Maura Toner-Donegal Engineering Cluster Executive, and other representatives from @donegal.ie and the Donegal County Council @donegalcoco.ie. Everyone received a fun tote bag full of wonderful treats from various other vendors in the area.
The idea that Diorite could be in with a chance to win Best Established Business was so exciting! Everyone that attended the #DEA received a finalist award for the recognition of their enterprise. There were a few entries that made runner up, but we were completely taken by surprise when we received the Engineering Cluster Award.
We could not wait to tell Ian. He is very appreciative of the award and is very proud of the team at Diorite.
We want to say a huge congrats to all the winners and established businesses around Donegal that attended and benefited from the 2022 awards for #DEA
